They both combine great experience sensory-wise to the whole experience of your practice.
While choosing incense, find natural, soothing scents, such as sandalwood, lavender, or frankincense. Be aware of all sensitivities to strong fragrances; for candles, use unscented ones, or preferably go for natural beeswax, which would provide clean, non-toxic burning.
